The Griffith University Law Students’ Association (GriffithLSA) is a non-profit student organisation which represents the interests of Law students on Griffith University’s Gold Coast Campus.
GriffithLSA was established within months of the Griffith Law School (GLS) commencing classes on the Gold Coast and has never looked back. Since its inception, we have strived to provide GLS students with innovative ways to connect with the profession and their fellow students.
Interaction with legal and local community is vital to the professional development of students. As such, we are dedicated to fostering initiatives and relationships that seek to bridge the gap between academic studies and the professional practice of law. We provide a range of events and programs, including:
- Legal Skills Competitions;
- Legal Education and Development Seminars;
- Social Events;
- Networking Events.
The Griffith University Law Students’ Association is committed to upholding the principles of equity and diversity and attempts to ensure Griffith University is a community in which all are respected and diversity is celebrated. In furtherance of both University policy and our own, the Griffith University Student Law Association annually hosts an Equity Function, the aim of which is to explore and bring to the attention of students, academics and professionals alike the importance and challenges of a sociological issue currently affecting the legal profession.
We seek to maintain a tight working relationship with the GLS meeting on a regular basis to discuss curriculum modifications and to address the concerns of students. The GriffithLSA is open to all students studying Law at Griffith University.
