Law Ball 2019 ticket competition terms and conditions

In appreciation of purchasing tickets for Law Ball, Griffith LSA is offering an exciting prize to purchasers.

Note that this competition is not endorsed by or affiliated with Griffith University, the Griffith Law School or the Arts, Education and Law Group in any way.

Conditions of entry

An entrant must:

  1. Be a current student at Griffith University; and

  2. Be enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws (whether with or without honours) or Juris Doctor; and

  3. Be enrolled in at least one law subject at the Gold Coast campus; and

  4. Purchase a ticket to the Griffith LSA 2019 Law Ball; and

  5. Not be an ineligible entrant.

There is no entry fee to enter this draw, except for the relevant fee associated with the ticket you purchase.

By completing the entry requirements, you will be entering this competition and this will be considered to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Entry period

Entries into the prize draw open at 9 am AEST on Wednesday 21 August 2019 and close at 6 pm AEST on Wednesday 4 September 2019.

All persons who meet the conditions of entry at the time the draw opens will be automatically added into the draw.

Entry method

Entrants must purchase a relevant ticket by the time entries close.

Maximum number of entries

An entrant may enter the prize draw only once during the entry period.

An entrant may receive no more than one additional entry by commenting and tagging a friend on the Facebook post by Griffith LSA announcing this competition. Extra entries will be counted as those publicly visible at the time entries close, and will not be counted before that time.

Draw details 

A random draw will be conducted for the competition as follows:

12 pm AEST on Thursday 5 September 2019 at Room G36_3.85, Griffith Law School, Griffith University, Parklands Dr, Southport.

Prize details

There is one prize to be won as follows:

  • A twin/double room (at the Hotel’s discretion) at the Mantra on View Hotel Surfers Paradise for the night of the Law Ball

Any change in the value of the prize between the commencement of the entry period and the date the prize is delivered is not the responsibility of the Promoter.

The Promoter may substitute another prize to the same estimated value at any time prior to the prize draw at its absolute discretion.

The prize is not redeemable for cash.

The right to a prize is not transferable or assignable to another person.

The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Ineligible entrants

The following persons are ineligible to enter the promotion:

  • office-bearers of Griffith LSA;

  • immediate family members of office-bearers of Griffith LSA.

Total prize pool

AUD $169 including GST.

Notification of winners

The winner will be contacted via email and/or telephone within seven (7) days of the draw taking place.

Prize claim and date 

The prize will be available for electronic delivery to the winner at an address specified when they are contacted. A failure to provide adequate details for delivery within seven (7) days of being contacted will lead to forfeiture of the prize and a redraw will be held not less than 14 days after the original draw. Any costs associated with claiming the prize shall be the cost of the winner and the Promoter will not be responsible for any cost.

Unclaimed prize draw date

If the prize is not claimed within seven days of notification or is returned to the Promoter following an unsuccessful delivery of the prize to the winner’s address supplied, an unclaimed prize draw will be conducted at the discretion of the Promoter within 1 month of the original draw.

Prize Delivery 

The Promoter will make every reasonable effort to locate the prize winner and to deliver the prize to the prize winner. The prize will be delivered within one month of determination of the prize winner.

Should the prize be unclaimed or should the promoter be unable to locate the prize winner, the prize will be delivered to the unclaimed prize winner at any address of the winner known to the Promoter within one month of the unclaimed prize draw.

Release and Indemnity

The Promoter shall not be liable for any cost, loss or expense arising out of the acceptance of the prize or participation in the prize draw including any damage or injury suffered or sustained including personal injury, loss of opportunity or profit or damage to property whether direct or indirect or consequential or due to the deliberate or negligent acts or omissions of the Promoter or otherwise.

The Promoter does not warrant or represent the quality, suitability or merchantability of the goods offered as prizes.

Cancellation of Prize Draw 

The Promoter may cancel, suspend or modify the prize draw for any reason including computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the Promoter’s control which may affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the prize draw.

The Promoter may also cancel, suspend or modify the prize draw if the determination of the prize winner or the delivery of the prize is prevented or hindered by any outside agent or event including but not limited to vandalism, power failure, tempest, natural disaster, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes or other industrial action.
