First Year Mentoring Program

The Griffith University Law Students’ Association has been hard at work redeveloping our First Year Mentoring Program! Our goal in re-establishing this program is to provide a productive and meaningful way for junior and senior law students to connect.

University can be complex, especially Law School. While at university, we all have our own study techniques, be it in relation to note-taking, time management, uni/work/life balance etc. This program will give experienced/senior university students (second year and beyond) the chance to pass down their knowledge to new students and help make their experience a positive one. Our goal in facilitating this program is to give first year students the ability to rely on someone who shares the experience of starting a law degree. We hope that with this program, new students will have no questions left unanswered.

Compared to other mentoring programs, our First Year Mentoring Program is fairly low commitment. At a minimum you are required to attend a one-on-one meeting (in person or online) between the mentor and mentee and complete monthly check-ins via email.
